🃏 Poker Coach — Privacy Policy

Poker Coach ("the App") is a poker training and education application. No real money is involved. No gambling occurs. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

1. What We Collect

Email address — Used for account creation and login. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided email (which may be a private relay address).
Apple Sign-In identifier — If you sign in with Apple, we store a unique identifier provided by Apple to link your account. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
Gameplay data — Statistics about hands played, actions taken, and coaching usage (daily counts per user). Used to enforce usage limits and improve the AI coaching experience.
LLM usage — When you use GPT-powered coaching (Premium subscribers or free preview sessions), your poker hand context is sent to OpenAI/Azure OpenAI for analysis. No personal information is included in these requests.
Subscription status — Managed by Apple/Google via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription tier (Trial, Basic, or Premium) but never your payment details.
Feature usage counters — We track how many free AI coaching previews you have used (2 per account) to manage the preview feature.
Device identifier — A unique ID generated on your device to enforce daily usage limits for anonymous (non-registered) users. This identifier is not linked to any personal information and is used solely for rate limiting.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

Real names or legal identity
Financial or banking information
Precise location data
Contacts, photos, or device files
Advertising identifiers (no ads in the app)

3. How We Use Your Data

Authenticate your account and manage your subscription tier
Provide AI-powered poker coaching
Track aggregate usage statistics (hands played, coaching calls) for service monitoring
Improve the coaching pipeline and AI quality

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Microsoft Azure (Sweden Central region) using industry-standard security practices:

Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
Passwords hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 12) — never stored in plain text
JWT-based authentication with 30-day token expiry
Rate limiting on all authentication endpoints to prevent abuse
Password reset codes are hashed before storage and expire after 15 minutes

5. Third-Party Services

Apple Sign in with Apple — Used for quick account creation. Apple provides us a unique identifier and optionally your email. See Apple Privacy Policy.
Azure OpenAI / OpenAI — Powers GPT coaching for Premium subscribers and free preview sessions. Only poker hand context is shared; no personal data.
RevenueCat — Manages subscription billing and entitlements. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple / Google — Handle payment processing for in-app subscriptions.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 18+ and is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app: while signed in, open the Home screen and tap Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and removes your account, gameplay history, and usage data.

If you have uninstalled the app, you can also request deletion by contacting us at aipokercoach.support@gmail.com, and we will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.

8. GDPR & European Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data based on legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) for account management, service delivery, and abuse prevention, and on your consent where required. You have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our data controller is located in Norway.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Export your data in a portable format

10. No Gambling

This app does not involve real money, gambling, or wagering of any kind. It is purely an educational tool for learning poker strategy. Users play against AI opponents only. There is no user-versus-user gameplay and no connection to any real poker site or casino.
